Steadfast Love

What if the most important truth about God could be summed up in a single phrase worth repeating over and over again? Psalm 136 does exactly that, anchoring every verse to the declaration that God's steadfast love endures forever. This session takes us deep into what that phrase actually means, unpacking the word 'steadfast' as a descriptor of love that is faithful, loyal, and unchanging, a love that no sin, no circumstance, and no season of life can diminish or destroy. We explore how the psalmist builds his case for this truth across three powerful categories: who God is in his very person, what God has done through his wonders in creation and in history, and how God continues to show up in the lowest moments of human experience. From the perfect design of the cosmos to the parting of the Red Sea to the defeat of giants and kings, the evidence is overwhelming. God's love is not passive or theoretical. It is active, proven, and personal. As we reflect on our own lives, we are invited to look back and identify the fingerprints of that same steadfast love in our own stories, in our families, our communities, and even our hardest seasons.
