From Him, Through Him, To Him
What does it mean to truly belong to God, and can anything separate us from His love? This exploration of Romans 11 takes us deep into one of Scripture's most profound truths: God's covenant with His people was never dependent on human faithfulness, but on His own unchanging character. We discover the stunning reality of the Abrahamic covenant, where God literally put Abraham to sleep and walked between the sacrificial animals Himself, making a promise not between God and humanity, but between God and God. This means our standing before Him isn't based on our performance, our consistency, or our ability to keep our end of the bargain. It's based entirely on His grace. When we feel like Elijah, alone and discouraged, wondering if anyone else is faithful, God reminds us there's always a remnant chosen by grace. The Jewish people's temporary rejection of the Messiah opened the door for Gentiles to flood into the kingdom, showing us how God takes even our trespasses and turns them into riches for His glory. This isn't permission to sin, but a profound comfort that our past mistakes, our present struggles, and our future stumbles cannot undo what Christ has accomplished. We serve a God who redeems, restores, and remains faithful even when we are faithless, because He cannot deny Himself.
