Questioning Wickedness
This powerful exploration of Psalm 10 confronts us with one of life's most pressing questions: why does wickedness seem to flourish while God appears silent? We live in an age increasingly comfortable with questioning authority, yet we must learn to balance healthy inquiry with trust in our unchanging God. The psalmist doesn't shy away from asking hard questions—'Why do you stand far away? Why do you hide in times of trouble?'—and neither should we. What's remarkable is discovering that our Heavenly Father welcomes these questions with patience and grace. The sermon unpacks how wickedness takes root in two destructive places: pride and denial of God. Pride makes us think less of others, prioritize our own desires, and ultimately stops us from seeking the Lord. Denial convinces us that God either doesn't exist, isn't watching, or has forgotten about us. Yet the beautiful truth remains: the wicked may deny God, but He is unchanged. He sees, He remembers, and He cares deeply about the afflicted. This isn't just theology for someday—we're called to actively pray against wickedness now, to fight for life, justice, and righteousness in our present moment, while trusting that God will ultimately make all things right.
